Through the Storm - An Ode to Jordan B Peterson
Born and raised as an Albertan, sharing a home province with Dr. Jordan Peterson, is something I take pride in, as he is a man whom I greatly admire and respect. While my parents were doodle-bugging in Northern Alberta working to raise four boys, the insights and wisdom he shares have a certain familiarity - a way of thinking, that I’m used to…a common sense that is no longer common.
As I spend a lot of my free time painting, and drawing, I’ve turned him on to listen and absorb all things JBP and like so many others, have come to deeply appreciate his universal and complex message.Simply put, he has changed, reinforced and informed my thinking on the most critically important historic, current and future topics we all face.
A quote I cherish on his musings about art and artists…”Artists teach people to see…and are on the frontier of human understanding….visionaries that transform we we don’t understand, into at least what we can start to see.” Likening this vision to, “dreams as the thing that mediates between order and chaos, (artists) start to make order out of chaos”The world needs more of this man!
